State Management Analytics Internship

About the role

Mapfre Insurance is seeking highly motivated, intellectually curious college students for a 10‑week State Management Analytics internship (June 7 – August 13) in Webster, Massachusetts. Interns work with real business data, generate insights, and present recommendations to senior leadership to influence strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze premium, agency, and claims data to uncover trends and profitability opportunities.
• Identify unprofitable driver segments and propose improvement strategies.
• Examine insurance agent sales behaviors to spot underserved customer needs and growth areas.
• Research claims cost trends to reveal operational efficiencies.
• Support strategic business decisions with data‑driven analysis and performance‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduate (final‑year) or exceptional undergraduate student.
• Majors such as Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Business, Econometrics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science.
• Analytical, curious, collaborative mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong database skills, preferably SQL.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
