State Inspector Technician

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring a Technician (State Inspector) in its District 71 location in Hooksett. The role is full-time or part-time and is an hourly position depending on business needs. The technician performs basic vehicle diagnostics and routine repair and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications, delivering 5-star guest service through clear communication of issues and solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional services and repairs, and audit courtesy inspections done by General Service Technicians
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts and stocking inventory
• Help keep the store clean and guest-ready, and follow safety standards such as wheel torque and oil safety procedures
• Test drive vehicles under the Road Test policy using dedicated test drive routes
• Follow company policies, environmental codes and OSHA standards, and complete Monro University training
• Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts, welders and brake lathes

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Automotive training in basic maintenance and repair, or equivalent education and experience
• Current valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report; able to operate customers' vehicles for test drives
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins Monro's tool purchase program
• Ability to work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays, and to lift up to 50 lbs

Required skills

• ASE certification and State Inspection license (where applicable) preferred
• Basic automotive maintenance, repair and tire services
• Problem diagnosis and strong customer service and communication skills
