General Service Technician - Key Holder

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring a General Service Technician in Hooksett. The role is a blend of front-shop and back-shop work, with at least two days per week on the front counter. As a key holder and manager on duty when needed, the technician provides a great guest experience, helps sell automotive services and tires and keeps the store welcoming.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle services and repairs to Monro standards and manufacturer specs, and explain vehicle issues and solutions to guests
• Tire services: wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, mounting, installation and TPMS service
• Vehicle services: lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance (bulbs, wiper blades, filters), battery testing and installation
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle and document additional services needed
• Help with inventory management, pulling tires and parts and stocking shelves
• Keep the store clean and guest-ready, and follow safety standards such as wheel torque and oil safety
• Test drive vehicles following the Road Test policy and company policies, including environmental and OSHA standards
• Complete Monro University training, maintain equipment safely and assist with guest care, work orders, register assistance and purchasing under management's direction
• Act as a secondary key carrier for opening and closing, and communicate products and services to guests

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or equivalent education and experience
• Current valid driver's license, satisfactory MVR and ability to test drive customers' vehicles
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins Monro's tool purchase program
• Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills
