Standardized Patient (Part‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a part‑time Standardized Patient to portray realistic patients in simulated clinical encounters. You will recreate histories, physical findings and emotional responses, and help medical students develop effective communication and diagnostic skills.

Key responsibilities

• Simulate all aspects of patient scenarios, including history, affect, behavior and physical findings, in a standardized and reliable manner.
• Complete checklists accurately and provide both verbal and written constructive feedback to learners.
• Interact professionally with students, faculty, supervisors and peers, and incorporate facilitator feedback into simulations.
• Promote the Miller School of Medicine within the community and participate in presentations to diverse audiences.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience required.
• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work evenings, nights and weekends as needed.
• Any appropriate combination of education, experience or certifications may be considered.
