Stagehand

About the role

Legends Global, which manages privately owned public assembly venues, is hiring stagehands in Sioux Falls. The position reports to the Union Steward or Director of Operations, is non-exempt and part-time, and is event-based and possibly seasonal. Tasks cover work inside and outside the venue, which may involve adverse weather and loud noise during events.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in the full conversion process for events, including setup and tear-down of event and team setups and other assignments.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Help assemble and disassemble show productions.
• Build set pieces, risers, stages and musical equipment.
• Operate spotlights during shows for qualified personnel.
• Assist with video, sound and light production before, during and after shows.
• Move furniture, road cases and miscellaneous equipment, and set up and tear down flooring, portable chairs, barricades, staging, tables and other furnishings.
• Perform routine backstage facility maintenance.

Required profile

• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends, days, evenings, overnight shifts and holidays.
• Able to stand for long periods, walk up and down steep stairs, and occasionally kneel, climb high walkways or balance.
• Able to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Must be 18 years of age and able to read, write and speak English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of video, sound and lighting, and technical theater experience is helpful.
