Staff Validation Engineer - Electronics Design

About the role

The Staff Validation Engineer – Electronics Design will join the Design and Product Development organization of the Rivian‑Volkswagen joint venture. You will work on electronic control units (ECUs) for next‑generation electric vehicles, covering infotainment, telematics, ADAS, battery management and zonal controllers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify and validate electronic hardware throughout the full product‑development lifecycle.
• Lead electronics verification and validation for infotainment, telematics, ADAS and other vehicle ECU programs.
• Translate system and product requirements into clear, measurable hardware specifications.
• Develop validation strategies, identify design risks and ensure compliance with environmental, mechanical and electrical stress tests.
• Collaborate with electrical, systems, software, mechanical, reliability, manufacturing and supplier engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple ECU projects.

Required profile

• Staff‑level individual contributor with extensive experience in automotive electronic hardware design.
• Proven ability to drive hardware validation from concept through production launch.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills and hands‑on prototype bring‑up experience.
• Comfort working under tight schedules and complex system requirements.
