Staff Systems Engineer – Signal Processing / SAR Processor (Remote)

About the role

Our client seeks a Staff‑level Systems Engineer to lead a specialized team building high‑throughput signal processing systems that convert raw satellite radar data into SAR imagery. The position is fully remote within the United States, with optional relocation to Vancouver later.

Key responsibilities

• Define, specify, manage technical risk, integrate, verify and validate new and existing SAR processors.
• Supervise interface control document development and ensure seamless hardware‑software integration across ground or space segments.
• Coordinate trade‑offs between theoretical algorithms and their implementation on actual processors.
• Troubleshoot processing errors and artefacts, optimise processing time toward near‑real‑time performance.
• Participate in mission design trade‑off studies, mentor the team, and advise senior management on new business pursuits.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematics or Physics (or equivalent).
• 12+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years on complex signal‑processing systems and 10+ years in large product development or systems‑engineering environments.
• US citizenship or permanent residency.

• Proficiency in MATLAB.
