Staff Systems Engineer

About the role

CACI is hiring a Staff Systems Engineer in Aurora, Colorado, to work closely with a team delivering a complex software application into operations. The position primarily supports the operations of a software system and requires a minimum TS/SCI clearance. It is full time, regular, with up to 10% local travel, and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and requirement transparency across development teams.
• Manage requirements: creation, tracking, flow-down, coverage, verification tracking and compliance matrices.
• Develop test procedures to formally verify system requirements for sell-off events.
• Break down system requirements and collaborate with distributed teams to build efficient, scalable solutions.
• Support the development, implementation and verification of mission capabilities.
• Take part in program milestone events such as customer meetings, government testing events and discrepancy report review boards.
• Run software testing events and produce test result documentation.
• Support software operations through enterprise test events, user integration and onboarding.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, IT or a related engineering field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in software development or systems engineering.
• Effective cross-organizational communicator able to work in a small, fast-paced team.
• Ability to develop requirements, test procedures and traceability between requirements, code and verification.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development.
• Desired: adjudicated polygraph, IAT Level II or III certification (Security+, CISSP, CASP).
• Desired: familiarity with cloud architectures and US DoD deployment requirements, automated test sell-offs, government site acceptance processes, software-defined interfaces (XML or JSON), SATCOM or GEOINT systems, Cameo modeling, DOORS or DOOR Next Gen, and multi-product baseline deployments.
