Computer Vision AI/ML Engineer

About the role

CACI is hiring a Computer Vision AI/ML Engineer in Aurora, Colorado, to apply AI/ML-based computer vision algorithms to remote sensing problems such as Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and multimodal data fusion for electro-optical (EO) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR). The engineer matures, optimizes and deploys these algorithms in a cloud-hosted environment, joins a team of researchers and software developers and leads and mentors junior engineers. The position requires a TS/SCI security clearance and is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small team of developers and researchers to implement AI/ML algorithms for computer vision problems in remote sensing
• Analyze and preprocess large remote sensing datasets
• Research supervised and unsupervised ATR solutions and the performance benefits of multimodal data fusion under diverse data collection scenarios
• Train, optimize and deploy deep learning CV models that give analysts actionable insights
• Review publications, explain key ideas to government customers and apply them to defense and commercial applications
• Write technical documentation supporting code, program capabilities and user guides

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI government security clearance
• B.S. in machine learning, computer science, mathematics or a related field
• 3+ years of computer vision AI/ML development experience
• Experience training convolutional-based CV models (e.g. YOLOv3-11, YOLOX) or transformer-based models (Vision Transformer, Swin)

Required skills

• Python and ML libraries such as PyTorch, Lightning, OpenCV, NumPy, Polars
• Supervised and unsupervised learning
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn/scikit-image and/or OpenCV
• Version control, Linux, and familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda)
