Staff Software Engineer, Frontend

About the role

Hims & Hers, a public health and wellness platform, is looking for an experienced Staff Frontend Engineer to build, test, deploy and support its self-service platform for pharmacy operations and customer order fulfillment. As a leading technical voice on the Fulfillment and Pharmacy Engineering Front End team, you will work with engineers, product managers, designers and engineering leaders to deliver safe, reliable, scalable and adaptable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of scalable, maintainable and performant frontend solutions aligned with product requirements.
• Work with technical leaders to adopt common frameworks, patterns and practices, and establish consistent best practices and coding standards across the Front End team.
• Shape responsible adoption of AI in software development while keeping patient safety, quality and maintainability high.
• Mentor Front End engineers through pair programming, mentorship and technical documentation, and guide their technical growth.
• Reduce technical debt and improve workflow efficiency, and set up monitoring, incident response and performance optimization tools.
• Define a multi-quarter frontend architecture roadmap for Pharmacy & Fulfillment broken into work others can pick up.
• Collaborate with designers on intuitive user experiences, conduct design and code reviews, and run knowledge-sharing sessions.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of setting frontend technical direction across multiple teams.
• Proven experience building scalable web applications and services, preferably in a cloud environment.
• Experience with monitoring and CI/CD tools.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in real engineering workflows, with good judgment about where they help.
• Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects without management oversight.
