Staff Product Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Product Engineer – Mechanical to lead the design, development, and validation of a broad portfolio of medical devices, ranging from simple disposables to complex thermofluidic and robotic systems. The role is based in Trumbull, CT and provides technical leadership across product engineering workstreams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop components and assemblies using first‑principles mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, mechatronics, and established engineering best practices.
• Define product requirements, generate specifications, and create verification and validation plans; drive testing to ensure compliance with international standards.
• Conceptualize, prototype, and evaluate new product ideas or upgrades, employing simulation and finite‑element analysis as needed.
• Develop test methods, fixtures, and automated test setups for components and systems.
• Lead root‑cause analysis, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement corrective solutions in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical product development for regulated medical devices.
• Strong ability to manage projects from concept through launch, delivering on schedule and budget.
• Excellent problem‑solving mindset and collaborative communication style.
