Staff Physician – Medicine & Med‑Peds

About the role

The UMMG Staff Physician provides comprehensive medical care to patients in an outpatient setting, focusing on both internal medicine and pediatrics. Working at the University of Miami’s satellite facility in Palmetto Bay, the physician collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans addressing biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects of health.
• Perform thorough physical assessments and prescribe appropriate medications.
• Gather accurate patient information through record review and interviews with patients, families, and other health professionals.
• Report to the supervising physician, adhere to medical staff policies, and co‑sign documentation as required.
• Identify and report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and supply deficiencies.
• Document and report all quality‑assurance incidents, including medication errors, following department guidelines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance clinical knowledge and expertise.

Required profile

• MD degree in a relevant field.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
• Valid or eligible Florida medical license.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
