Staff Pharmacist – Austin, TX

About the role

Amazon Pharmacy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join its Austin team. You will help customers obtain their medications safely, affordably, and conveniently through a blend of clinical expertise and advanced automation. This role combines prescription verification, patient counseling, and end‑to‑end fulfillment in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clinical data review, prescription verification, and virtual patient consultations in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Manage the full prescription fulfillment process, including dispensing using the Parata Max2 automated system and manual fills.
• Package and prepare prescriptions for shipment or site injection, handling specialized items such as refrigerated and bulk medications.
• Maintain strict quality and safety standards while meeting Critical Pull Times (CPT) and production targets.
• Conduct thorough Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) and document accurately in pharmacy systems.
• Monitor, receive, and manage pharmacy inventory in a compliant manner.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists to ensure efficient workflow.
• Support operational excellence initiatives, continuous improvement, and promptly report quality or safety concerns.
• Complete daily operational tasks such as processing returns, medication rejects, therapeutic substitutions, and canister approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of employment.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations related to patient care.
• Familiarity with Windows desktop environment and common applications (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Firefox).
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high productivity and quality standards.
