Staff Fellow – Ophthalmology

The University of Miami’s Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a Clinical Staff Fellow to join its premier teaching, research, and patient‑care environment. This full‑time position supports resident education, provides direct patient care, and contributes to the department’s clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver extensive direct ophthalmic patient care in clinic and operating‑room settings.
• Provide night and weekend on‑call coverage as required.
• Staff residents during clinical sessions and surgeries, ensuring smooth workflow.
• Assist in teaching and training ophthalmology residents and fellows.
• Assume appropriate administrative duties related to the training program.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree with successful completion of an ACGME‑accredited ophthalmology residency.
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in ophthalmology.
• Valid, unrestricted State of Florida medical license or Medical Faculty Certificate.
• DEA certification.
