Staff Auditor

About the role

Our Internal Audit group is looking for a Staff Auditor to assess compliance, operational, and technological risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen internal controls. The ideal candidate brings strong problem‑solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the confidence to challenge processes constructively.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Senior Managers/Managers in executing audit tasks following American Express Internal Audit procedures, policies, and regulatory expectations.
• Review prior audit results and business monitoring materials to support audit planning and attend walkthroughs.
• Perform straightforward audit tests (process, governance, oversight) and document results in line with internal policies.
• Identify and escalate issues, draft audit issue documentation, and support client status meetings.
• Validate Management Action Plans (MAPs) to ensure corrective actions are sustainable.
• Communicate task status, roadblocks, and potential solutions to senior audit leadership.

Required profile

• 0‑2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Analytical mindset with capability to break down problems and draw risk‑based conclusions.
