Staff Accountant

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs is hiring a Staff Accountant for its Accounting department. The role covers reviewing and reporting financial statements, maintaining books in line with GAAP, supporting departments and the parent company with financial information, and overseeing audit and software tasks. The normal schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:15 to 5:00, with after-hours, weekend and holiday work as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Review, close, analyze and report financial statements monthly, quarterly and annually, with accuracy and timeliness
• Provide financial information to departments and the parent company on an as-needed basis
• Maintain books in line with GAAP
• Oversee the general ledger software vendor relationship and maintenance with MAS 200 and DataWorks
• Oversee internal and external audits as needed
• Complete all duties assigned by the CFO and Director of Financial Reporting
• Handle guest interaction, ordering, clean-up and clerical duties as part of the role

Required profile

• 5-7 years of accounting experience
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience
• Hospitality accounting experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or comparable work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with staff, department heads, vendors and customers

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word processing and spreadsheets
• Intermediate database skills
• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
• Experience with MAS 200 and DataWorks
