SRE Support Engineer – Linux, Kubernetes, Containers

About the role

Virtasant is seeking SRE Support Engineers to join a fast‑growing Compute team that powers internal developer platforms used by hundreds of millions of users. This hands‑on engineering role focuses on Linux, containerization, and Kubernetes, helping internal developers adopt, debug, and succeed with the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑touch, white‑glove onboarding and ongoing support for internal customers using the compute platform.
• Respond to Slack, community forum, and ticketing system inquiries with deep technical troubleshooting.
• Act as the first line of engineering support for Kubernetes‑ and container‑related issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems across Kubernetes workloads, Docker containers, Linux servers, networking, and resource constraints.
• Investigate Linux system issues using tools such as tcpdump, ss, strace, traceroute, dig, journalctl, top, and htop.
• Document incidents, write clear runbooks, and create knowledge‑base articles.
• Collaborate with SRE, Platform, and Engineering teams to escalate bugs, propose improvements, and drive post‑mortem actions.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Linux fundamentals and networking.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex container and Kubernetes environments.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of working independently.
• Excellent written communication for tickets, incident summaries, and documentation.
