Sr. Clinic Assistant

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Senior Clinic Assistant to work in a hybrid setting. You will serve as a key liaison between patients and healthcare facilities, ensuring that medical records are collected, organized, and ready for first clinic visits.

Key responsibilities

• Explain HIPAA policies to patients and obtain required signatures.
• Submit consents and track retrieval of medical records, x‑rays, and reports.
• Coordinate with nurse coordinators when records are difficult to obtain.
• Travel across the campus to collect records, films, or CDs.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens as needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical records while preserving confidentiality.
• Assemble, complete, and process patient charts.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, distributing, sorting, and storing supplies.
• Report suspicious or unusual incidents to supervisors.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, sending faxes/emails, and scanning documents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Capability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
