Sr. Accountant

About the role

Sprout is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. You will play a key role in managing the general ledger, supporting month‑end and year‑end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for a fast‑growing IT asset disposition company.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage key areas of the general ledger, including preparation and review of journal entries.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support and drive month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with preparation of internal financial reports and schedules for management.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Sales, and other teams to ensure accurate financial data.
• Assist with ERP‑related accounting workflows and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and scalability within accounting operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
• CPA or CPA‑eligible preferred.
• 3+ years of public accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month‑end close and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
