Sports Medicine Sales Associate - Downtown Chicago

About the role

Stryker, a global medical technology company, is hiring a Sales Associate for its Sports Medicine specialty in downtown Chicago. The associate acts as the face of Stryker products, supporting Sales Representatives in selling, promoting and marketing them, and works in a field-based capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Sales Representatives in the sales, promotion and marketing of Stryker products.
• Educate doctors, nurses and other staff on the proper use and maintenance of products, functionality, updates, portfolio changes and educational programs.
• Tailor the promotional message to each customer, advise on product selection and answer questions about functionality.
• Distinguish Stryker products from competitors' products.
• Negotiate price and terms of transactions with customers and resolve customer complaints and questions.
• Analyze territory market potential and prioritize call patterns accordingly.

Required profile

• 0-2 years of experience in an outside sales position; medical-related fields preferred.
• B.A. or B.S. degree required.
• Successful completion of in-house product training.
• Ability to communicate with large groups and by telephone, and to drive an automobile.
• Up to 20% overnight travel per year; ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds constantly.

Required skills

• Command of all Stryker products, including functionality, features and differentiators.
• Use of common office equipment such as fax, modem, calculator and PC.
• Results-driven, confident communicator and strategic closer who exceeds quarterly sales quotas.
