About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a qualified Speech Therapist to join its Clinical Staff – Medical Ancillary Support team. This position supports patient care by providing comprehensive speech and language services within a collaborative health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders for patients of all ages.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and document progress in accordance with clinical standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding communication strategies and home exercises.
• Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and continuing education activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Arkansas.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and patient‑centered care.
