Specialty Pharmacy Manager (Onsite)

About the role

The Specialty Pharmacy Manager will lead an onsite pharmacy team in delivering comprehensive medication services to patients and physicians. This role combines hands‑on medication preparation, clinical counseling, and adherence support while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage pharmacy operations in compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies.
• Serve as an active member of the Quality Management Committee and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate pharmacy staff, handling performance management, succession planning, and disciplinary actions.
• Oversee inventory control, formulary compliance, and specialty pharmacy reimbursement processes.
• Implement and maintain record‑keeping systems, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with Shields Health Solutions and hospital partners to develop cost‑effective clinical programs and adherence initiatives.
• Participate directly in patient pharmacy services as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a specialty pharmacy or similar high‑complexity pharmacy setting.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations, accreditation requirements, and specialty reimbursement.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clinical and administrative departments.
• Ability to analyze operations, re‑engineer procedures, and implement strategic improvements.
