HIM Associate

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is recruiting an HIM Associate for an onsite position at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside in Jacksonville. The associate helps ensure patient health information is accurately captured, indexed and maintained through efficient document imaging processes that support timely access, compliance and continuity of care. The role involves preparing and scanning medical records and other clinical documentation into the electronic medical record, and index and quality-check imaged documents.

Key responsibilities

• Perform document imaging activities, including prepping, scanning, indexing and validating patient records
• Support the integrity and accessibility of the electronic health record through accurate document management
• Work with internal teams to resolve document discrepancies and maintain record quality standards
• Follow HIPAA, privacy and retention guidelines to safeguard protected health information
• Protect the confidentiality of patient information while following established HIM policies and regulatory requirements

Required profile

• Highly detail-oriented and organized
• Comfortable working with technology
• Able to manage repetitive processes with accuracy and consistency in a fast-paced environment
