Patient Registration Representative - Onsite

About the role

R1, a revenue cycle technology company, is hiring an onsite Patient Access Representative at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida. The role is the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care. It is described as a frontline healthcare customer service position, and training is provided even with no healthcare background.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process, working across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize delays in registration and answer questions with confidence, clarity and compassion
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required

What we offer

• Base pay of $16.00 - $21.10 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education
