Specialist, Account Data Management & Governance

About the role

Neuberger's Enterprise Data Governance function focuses on data quality, understanding and availability so that decisions are data-driven. This specialist owns account data quality, controls and process discipline across the account lifecycle (onboarding, fund launches, transitions, terminations, exception monitoring and technology implementation). It is a hands-on role with day-to-day data maintenance, including resolving data exceptions and working with data owners to align fields and definitions. The role has a growth path toward broader ownership of account lifecycle processes and offshore workflow oversight over 1-3 years.

Key responsibilities

• Data quality and exception resolution: manually investigate and resolve mismatched account data, download and review data exceptions daily and reach out to account owners to resolve breaks.
• Account onboarding and data setup: oversee the New Account team's daily new Aladdin account openings, submit, review and approve New Account Application updates, assist with Institutional, Intermediary, Subadvised and CIT Trust accounts, manage openings at custodian portals and maintain Aladdin data via ADAM and BlackRock Portfolio Toolkit.
• Data governance and standards: support the Account Data Steward on the data roadmap, define and supervise governance of critical data elements, add terms to the glossary, add rules to the Data Platform Portal, review Data Warehouse discrepancies, perform ERISA and other regulatory flag controls, and screen user access for account master data.
• Technology partnership: project manage account data enhancements, submit stories to technology, attend grooming sessions, run UAT, submit Datactics rule stories and collaborate on cross-functional projects.
• Stakeholder coordination: lead a weekly account data meeting, organize the quarterly Account Owners update call, prepare quarterly EDG updates and partner with front office, control, offshore and legal/compliance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 5-8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with reference data, security master or account master data, and documenting and mapping business processes.
• Project management and business analysis experience; ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: hands-on Aladdin, Datactics and/or VantageIQ experience, data governance in financial services, fund launch/onboarding experience, investment operations background, data cataloging tools (e.g. Collibra) and offshore team coordination exposure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Visio (or equivalent) and PowerPoint.
• Strong data analysis, profiling and discovery skills.
• Comfort with hands-on manual data investigation and exception resolution.

• Salary range of $125,000-$150,000, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
