Director, Futures Clearing Product (FCM / Listed Rates)
lseg · New York
Job description
About the role
LSEG is hiring a Director of Product Development to lead the build-out of futures clearing, focused on workflows used by FCMs, clearing brokers and client service teams. The role improves how futures markets operate day to day, from trade capture through clearing and post-trade, with a clear emphasis on client experience and operational efficiency. It reports to the Head of Product Development, SwapClear & Listed Rates, and is based in New York on a hybrid schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Own the build-out of futures clearing workflows, covering trade capture, allocations, give-ups and take-ups, and post-trade exception handling.
- Improve how client activity flows through the clearing lifecycle, reducing friction in onboarding, trade processing and position management.
- Define and deliver a roadmap reflecting how FCMs and client service teams operate, turning day-to-day pain points into product enhancements.
- Work with exchanges, FCMs and internal engineering teams to define and optimise venue to CCP integration flows.
- Drive adoption by engaging directly with clearing members, trading desks and post-trade teams.
- Ensure strong product governance, prioritisation discipline and delivery against measurable outcomes.
Required profile
- Typically 5+ years in product, operations, client service or post-trade roles within derivatives markets, with a focus on futures or listed products.
- Experience in FCM product, futures operations or client service teams, with direct exposure to how trades are processed and supported.
- Proven ability to deliver platform or process improvements in market infrastructure, clearing or post-trade environments.
- Strong stakeholder management across operations, engineering, sales and external clients.
- A hands-on, delivery-focused mindset with attention to detail and ownership of outcomes.
Required skills
- Hands-on experience in futures and options or exchange-traded derivatives (ETD), with a strong understanding of clearing and post-trade workflows.
- Practical knowledge of core futures workflows including give-ups, allocations, position management and reconciliation.
- Experience working with exchanges such as CME, ICE or Eurex, or clearing brokers and FCMs.
- Desirable: some exposure to OTC rates clearing, familiarity with vendor platforms such as FIS, ION or similar infrastructure providers.
What we offer
- Anticipated base salary of $167,000 - $278,300, with eligibility for the Annual Incentive Plan (bonus plan).
- Benefits programme including wellness allowance, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, flex spending and health savings options, prescription drug plan, 401(k) with company match, and life insurance and disability benefits.
- Relocation support can be considered for strong candidates, especially from Chicago or other US financial centres.
