Special Forces Weapons Instructor (18B)

About the role

The Special Forces Weapons Instructor provides classroom, practical and field instruction on a wide range of U.S. and foreign weapons systems, tactical marksmanship, mortar and anti-armor operations, and fire support procedures for Special Forces students at Fort Bragg.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive instruction on light and heavy weapons, including pistols, rifles, machine guns, mortars, anti-armor and anti-aircraft systems.
• Teach Forward Observer, Close Air Support and Fire Direction Center procedures through lectures, hands-on exercises and digital platforms.
• Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, performance tests and ensure compliance with Special Forces doctrine.
• Assess student performance via written exams, hands-on evaluations and field training events, providing constructive feedback.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with active Secret clearance and valid driver’s license.
• Rank of E-7, Warrant Officer or Commissioned Officer and graduate of the 18B Special Forces Weapons Sergeant Course.
• Must possess or complete the Common Faculty Developer-Instructor Course (CFD-IC) and meet physical standards for field training.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Blackboard and Adobe Connect for instructional delivery.
• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of U.S. and foreign weapons systems.
