About the role
Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking a Spacecraft Integrated Systems Chief Engineer to provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of complex spacecraft and spaceflight systems. The role serves as the technical authority ensuring product integrity, advancing technology strategy, and delivering mission‑critical solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as technical authority for spacecraft integrated systems from concept through launch and mission support.
- Lead large, multidisciplinary engineering initiatives covering systems engineering, mechanical design, electronics, software, controls, propulsion, structures, and thermal.
- Develop and execute business unit technology strategies and long‑term spacecraft roadmaps.
- Establish technical standards, oversee verification, validation, and qualification activities, and approve critical engineering deliverables.
- Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and readiness reviews throughout program execution.
- Mentor engineers, build technical capability, and drive continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, Physics or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience, including leadership of complex aerospace or defense programs.
- Extensive experience developing, integrating, testing, and deploying spacecraft or spaceflight systems.
- Deep understanding of systems engineering, requirements management, integration, verification, validation, and mission assurance.
- Proven ability to influence technical strategy, manage risk, and make critical engineering decisions.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance (may be required).

- Requirements management, configuration management, and product lifecycle management.
- Technical trade‑off analysis involving performance, reliability, cost, schedule, and manufacturability.
- Leadership of multidisciplinary teams and mentorship.
- Strong written and verbal communication with customers, senior leadership, and engineering teams.
