Sourcing Manager – Global Tea

About the role

Starbucks is seeking a Sourcing Manager for Global Tea to lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for tea, botanicals, and related beverage ingredients. You will work closely with product development, quality, sustainability, supply chain and supplier partners to ensure high‑quality, responsibly sourced ingredients that support our product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies across priority categories, suppliers and origins.
• Partner with Quality, R&D and Product teams to ensure ingredients meet sensory, specification and consistency standards.
• Leverage market intelligence, crop conditions, cost drivers and performance data to guide sourcing decisions.
• Manage core supplier relationships, including performance reviews, issue resolution and improvement plans.
• Support evaluation and onboarding of new tea and botanical suppliers, assessing capability, quality systems and responsible sourcing practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain supply continuity, product quality and sustainability goals.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply availability, quality, ethics, regulations and cost volatility.
• Build value pipelines that capture cost savings, margin protection, quality improvements and innovation opportunities.
• Assist with contracting activities, from term‑sheet development to ongoing compliance.
• Execute responsible sourcing programs through traceability, due‑diligence and sustainability reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain or agricultural commodity management.
• Strong interest and knowledge of tea, botanicals and ingredient quality.
• Ability to connect supplier capabilities, origin conditions and business needs.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a global environment.
