Software Safety Developer/Analyst

About the role

CACI is hiring a Software Safety Developer/Analyst in Lorton, Virginia, within its Information Technology category. The role focuses on identifying, evaluating and reducing safety risks in software systems through analysis of design and code, unit testing and thorough document review. It is a regular, full-time position requiring up to 10% travel across the continental US, with a minimum Secret security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze design and code to identify, evaluate and reduce software safety risks
• Perform unit testing and carry out thorough document reviews
• Support technical documentation and follow established engineering processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related technical field
• 0-2 years of experience in software development, software engineering, systems engineering or a related discipline
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
• Active Secret security clearance

Required skills

• Knowledge of software development principles and engineering best practices
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages
• Familiarity with SQL and/or relational database concepts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Desired: experience with Ada, C++ or Python; CompTIA Security+ certification; exposure to software safety, mission-critical systems, regulated environments or defense/aerospace programs
