Software Engineering Manager

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers in designing, building, testing, and deploying mission‑critical applications. Reporting to a Senior Manager, you will collaborate with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, product, and project leaders to deliver high‑quality software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the department’s IT assets and coordinate development from concept to production.
• Act as liaison between clients, vendors, and consultants.
• Conduct performance appraisals, coaching, mentoring, and professional development for team members.
• Manage agile teams, including consultants, developers, and testers, providing technical direction and process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with Federal Reserve, System, and Treasury policies.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the Federal Reserve System and Treasury.
• Research emerging application methodologies and maintain a strong security posture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (major or specialized).
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Ability to manage budgets, resources, and cross‑functional partnerships.
