Software Engineer - SnowConvert AI

About the role

Snowflake's SnowConvert AI team builds an AI-driven migration product that moves data-centric applications to Snowflake much faster than industry norms, covering data, code, ETL pipelines and BI tools. The team develops the code conversion techniques, migration and validation pipelines and automatic testing components that underpin AI agents performing full application migrations. The ideal engineer has strong Python software engineering experience and hands-on experience building agentic AI applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop fundamental code conversion techniques, robust data migration and validation pipelines, and automatic testing components.
• Build the foundations that AI agents rely on for fast, consistent code conversion.
• Work closely with the FDE team to iterate quickly on prototypes and early products.
• Design APIs carefully, given the evolving landscape of AI capabilities.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering experience in Python, focused on performance, reliability and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI applications, such as computer control or code generation.
• Track record of contributions to open-source agentic frameworks such as LangChain or AutoGen.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design and backend architectures.
• High agency: able to take ownership, navigate ambiguity and push projects forward independently.

• Estimated base salary range of $160,000 - $230,000, with eligibility for a bonus and equity plan.
