Software Engineer – Simulation, Game Engine & World Systems

About the role

Applied Intuition is looking for a Software Engineer to design and develop the world‑representation layer of its Axion simulation stack. The role focuses on building the spatial foundations that power games, simulations, and autonomous systems, ensuring environments are structured, queried, and updated at high frequency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core spatial data structures, including Entity Component System frameworks, spatial indexing, occupancy representations, and 4D object management for large‑scale multi‑agent environments.
• Own the mapping and geometry pipelines that translate raw sensor data into world‑state information for downstream path‑planning modules.
• Optimize computational geometry and world‑state systems for performance, accuracy, and scalability across air, ground, and maritime domains.
• Collaborate with sensor‑fusion, planning, and simulation teams to ensure seamless integration of world models.

Required profile

• Experience working on a game engine, robotics simulator, or autonomous vehicle stack.
• Proven ability to create fast, accurate, and scalable spatial representations under real‑time constraints.
• Strong understanding of computational geometry, real‑time world modeling, and large‑scale simulation.
• Familiarity with high‑performance data structures and multi‑agent reasoning.
