Software Engineer - Planning

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer focused on motion planning for autonomous vehicles and mobile robots. You will design and implement high‑performance planning modules that generate feasible trajectories across a variety of on‑road and off‑road scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Develop state‑of‑the‑art behavior software and integrate machine‑learning components for highway, city and off‑road driving.
• Design planning modules that run on vehicle hardware and produce kinematically‑feasible trajectories.
• Utilize lightweight SD map data and perception outputs to compute driving costs for planning.
• Deploy and test planning software on production vehicles in the field.
• Collaborate with customer engineers, manage relationships, and incorporate feedback into product improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience building production‑grade software for autonomous systems.
• Strong understanding of motion planning concepts and operational design domains.
