Software Engineer – Low Speed Motion Planning & Control

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking a software engineer to design and implement low‑speed motion planning and control solutions for autonomous vehicles. You will work on both simulation and real‑world vehicle platforms, turning research concepts into production‑ready software.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement motion‑planning and control modules that operate reliably in tight, low‑speed scenarios.
• Characterize vehicle dynamics to create tailored control solutions and close the gap between simulation and real‑world performance.
• Apply academic research to develop optimal‑control approaches, including nonlinear Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Model Predictive Path Integral (MPPI) control.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to gather feedback and refine the autonomous stack.

Required profile

• Passion for solving challenging motion‑planning or motion‑control problems.
• 3+ years of experience developing software for autonomous systems or related fields.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate research into practical implementations.
