Software Engineer II (Mobile)

About the role

EVgo is seeking a seasoned Mobile Software Engineer to join its Mobile team. You will build and enhance the Android application that powers the charging experience for retail and fleet drivers across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑quality Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
• Implement new features that improve charger discovery, payment processing, and session management.
• Integrate the app with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, payment platforms, and EV charging infrastructure.
• Optimize performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability across a wide range of Android devices.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture decisions.
• Debug and resolve complex issues while continuously improving user experience.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing Android applications, or equivalent education/experience combination.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with product, design, backend, and QA teams.
• Experience delivering production‑grade mobile features at scale.
