Software Engineer I, Backend

About the role

Pinterest is seeking an inquisitive Backend Software Engineer I to join its Monetization engineering team. You will help build the backend systems that power Pinner‑facing features, enabling millions of users to discover and act on inspiration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate large‑scale, distributed backend services for new product features.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers throughout the product lifecycle—from ideation and rapid prototyping to A/B testing, release, and scaling.
• Write automated tests and ensure high technical quality for the components you own.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Continuously improve developer tooling and processes from coding to production operations.
