MDM Consultant – Supplier Master Data

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Consultant to lead the design, implementation, and governance of supplier master data solutions for our Bay Area team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier/vendor data domains and a proven ability to work with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy MDM solutions focused on Supplier/Vendor master data.
• Define and enforce data governance standards, quality rules, and match/merge logic.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, and supply‑chain teams to capture requirements and map source‑to‑target flows.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, deduplication, and standardization of supplier records.
• Integrate MDM platforms with ERP, procurement, and finance systems via APIs or batch processes.
• Support data stewardship activities, including survivorship rules, hierarchy management, and enrichment.
• Troubleshoot data‑quality issues, provide root‑cause analysis, and implement remediation.
• Document data models, business rules, and technical specifications.
• Advise business stakeholders on MDM roadmap, scalability, and future enhancements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on MDM experience, specifically with Supplier/Vendor master data.
• Strong understanding of match & merge, survivorship, hierarchy management, and data governance.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams (procurement, finance, IT).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• SQL and data profiling/analysis.
• Data integration/ETL tools (batch and real‑time).
• API‑based integrations and cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with procurement/ERP systems such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, and SAP.

Preferred skills

• Hands‑on experience with Reltio MDM (configuration, workflows, match rules, integration hub).
• Experience with other MDM tools (Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, Stibo, Semarchy).
