Software Engineer – Developer Tools

About the role

Resend is building developer‑focused tools that make email integration seamless across languages, frameworks, and environments. As a Software Engineer on the DevTools Squad you will create and maintain SDKs, CLI, MCP, and related services for a global developer audience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services that power Resend’s SDKs, CLI, and integrations.
• Collaborate with product squads to define clear API contracts and ensure consistent behavior across all developer tools.
• Maintain compatibility, testing, releases, and upgrades so developers can rely on shipped features.
• Provide direct support to external developers via GitHub issues, pull requests, and community channels.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience building production APIs or services.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, retries, idempotency, rate limits, and partial failures.
• Experience delivering software that other developers depend on, with a focus on clear errors, documentation, and backward compatibility.
