Software Engineer – Backend & Frontend

About the role

Toyota Financial Services is seeking a Software Engineer to join its dealer and consumer digital platforms team in Plano, TX. The role offers the opportunity to work on both backend services and frontend applications, contributing to Toyota’s digital and financial journeys.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based backend services using Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs that power dealer and consumer applications.
• Create UI components with modern frontend frameworks such as React.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following team standards.
• Participate in code reviews, unit and integration testing, and production support.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to understand system architecture and design decisions.
• Support digital workflows including VDP, PreQual, and pricing requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of software development experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and a desire to grow technical depth.
• Willingness to learn domain concepts in financial services and automotive platforms.

Required skills

• Java and Spring Boot.
• Building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Frontend development with React or similar frameworks.
• Basic exposure to AWS services, containers, deployments, and logging.
• Understanding of microservices and cloud‑native architecture.
• Unit and integration testing.
• Version control with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
