Software Engineer, Agentic AI Systems

About the role

Rescale is looking for a product‑focused Software Engineer to build its Data Intelligence and Agentic AI platforms. You will work across backend services, cloud infrastructure, and occasional UI components to deliver high‑impact features for customers in aerospace, energy, life sciences, and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate LLM‑backed APIs, agents, retrieval systems, and integrations with internal and external services.
• Develop evaluation pipelines for agentic AI and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) workflows and use results to improve quality and reliability.
• Create high‑throughput ingestion pipelines linking customer environments, cloud object storage, and compute clusters while balancing performance, cost, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate broad goals into clear specifications and incremental releases.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience building and operating backend services and distributed systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands‑on production experience with agentic AI, RAG, and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong problem‑solving ability to turn ambiguous goals into actionable plans and own post‑launch performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Python, Java, or Go (at least one).
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP; containers/Kubernetes.
• Data‑intensive technologies: object storage, relational databases, caches, queues/streams.
• Frontend basics: React, TypeScript.
• Experience with AI coding agents and modern AI engineering practices.
