Software Engineer, 2027 Graduate (U.S.)

About the role

Atlassian is hiring a Software Engineer for its Grad++ graduate program, a hybrid position in Seattle, Washington. The program combines hands-on technical training, professional growth, dedicated mentorship and strong social connections. The role is open to graduates who will finish their studies by August 2027; it is not eligible for F1 or J1 students and is not available for any work sponsorship.

Key responsibilities

• Build production-ready features: develop scalable code for Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Trello) used by millions of teams.
• Own end-to-end projects, from design through deployment, including implementation, testing and monitoring in production.
• Work in Agile teams with senior engineers, product managers and designers using Agile and lean practices.
• Contribute to AI-powered features and integrations, using modern frameworks, agentic systems and intelligent automation.
• Solve complex problems in distributed systems, data processing and user experience, validating assumptions with data.

Required profile

• Full-time undergraduate or master's student in Computer Science or a related technical field, graduating by August 2027.
• Proven development skills through internships, work experience, projects or publications.
• Willingness and ability to work out of Seattle, WA.

Required skills

• Experience with Python, Java or other modern object-oriented languages.
• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
• Experience with APIs, cloud platforms or AI-powered applications.
• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms and statistical concepts, and familiarity with design patterns such as data pipelines, model serving and microservices.
• Preferred: exposure to agentic AI systems, autonomous agents, MCP and function calling, and AI-assisted development.

What we offer

• Base pay for new hires in the Seattle area: Zone A $122,400-$159,800, Zone B $110,160-$143,820, Zone C $101,592-$132,634.
