Software Development Engineer II – Foundational Security Services

About the role

Amazon Web Services is building next‑generation foundational access management capabilities. As a Software Development Engineer II you will design and implement a large‑scale Authentication Management System that protects customer and corporate data across Amazon’s services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy a next‑generation authentication management platform at scale.
• Collaborate with leadership to influence engineering and business decisions affecting the Amazon developer experience.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, documentation, deployment, and operations.
• Maintain fault‑tolerant systems and handle on‑call duties, rotating roughly one week every two months.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in software engineering, including object‑oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
• Solid understanding of advanced systems concepts and large‑scale distributed systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a self‑driven attitude.
• Enjoy working closely with talented engineers in a collaborative environment.
