Software Developer - Air Force Systems Support

About the role

The Software Developer supports the operation and maintenance of enterprise-level Air Force aircraft communications, equipment maintenance and training simulation systems. The role uses industry-standard development and programming practices to design, code, test, debug and document the software and applications that make up these systems.

Key responsibilities

• Use JavaScript and C# to deliver technical systems support
• Prepare detailed specifications and other documentation used to write and evaluate software programs
• Take part in technical interchange meetings, design sessions and unit testing
• Identify requirements and develop solutions using industry-standard software development practices
• Apply quality controls to meet established software development standards
• Work in a collaborative, team-based way and share standard methodologies
• Support integration (CMDB/EI), system information and event management (SIEM) and system security

Required profile

• 5+ years of related programming and development experience; less experienced applicants considered if they can show ability to build JavaScript and C# applications
• Excellent understanding of coding methods
• Self-driven, able to manage workload without direct supervision and anticipate problems
• Minimum education: HS diploma with 9 years' IT experience, Associate with 7 years' IT experience, or Bachelor's with 5 years' IT experience
• Demonstrated ability to implement agile development in an operational environment and in a customer-centric environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must maintain DOD 8570 certification, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent, and comply with DOD vaccination policies
• Subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility for classified information access
