Softlines Test Technician II

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Softlines Test Technician II to perform accurate and timely testing of consumer products in its Buffalo laboratory. The role supports the Consumer Products Services division, reporting data and preparing technical reports under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Access the latest revisions of standards, protocols, and test methods with guidance.
• Prepare samples and conduct basic bench analysis and limited analytical instrumentation.
• Use, verify, and maintain test equipment, ensuring calibration records are up‑to‑date.
• Accurately record test data and compile technical reports.
• Organize workload to meet laboratory turnaround times and client expectations.
• Assist senior staff with interpretation of results and client communications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1‑3 years related experience, or a technical degree with relevant experience.
• Ability to follow testing standards and quality guidelines.
• Strong organization, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating system.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
