The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Master‑level Social Worker to provide comprehensive social services to patients and families within its hospitals and clinics. The role focuses on assessing needs, coordinating care plans, and delivering crisis intervention in a fast‑paced academic medical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interview patients and families to assess social, emotional, and financial needs.
• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans, including discharge planning and post‑acute services.
• Provide crisis intervention and support families in understanding complex medical situations.
• Conduct patient assessments covering illness impact, mental status, and family dynamics.
• Document all interactions accurately in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Link patients and families to appropriate community resources and act as a liaison with physicians, insurers, and agencies.
• Offer clinical supervision and guidance to junior social workers.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Relevant certification or licensure.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a health‑care setting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain composed under stressful conditions.
