Social Media Video Editor

About the role

The Christian Post seeks a creative Social Media Video Editor to turn raw footage and existing content into high‑impact, platform‑specific videos for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other channels. You will help make world‑class journalism immediately watchable, shareable, and resonant with both long‑time readers and new audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Edit raw footage into short‑form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and longer videos for YouTube, optimizing aspect ratios, pacing, and length for each platform.
• Integrate audio, licensed music, voiceovers, and design dynamic on‑screen captions, lower thirds, and motion‑graphic overlays.
• Ensure every video reflects The Christian Post’s editorial standards, voice, and visual identity, transforming long‑form articles and interviews into compelling narratives.
• Partner with editors, reporters, and marketing to align video output with editorial and campaign calendars, manage media assets, and meet tight news‑driven deadlines.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional video editing experience with a portfolio of short‑form social content.
• Strong visual storytelling instincts, sense of pacing, rhythm, and narrative structure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate in a remote/hybrid environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or equivalent tools).
• Ability to design and animate motion graphics, captions, and title cards.
• Experience with DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar mobile‑first editing platforms (preferred).
• Basic graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator (preferred).
