Social Media Manager

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position in Phoenix, AZ, will own the day‑to‑day execution of Aravaipa Running’s social media presence. Working directly with the Director of Marketing, the Social Media Manager creates content, engages the community, and provides real‑time race coverage for the company’s Arizona race portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Publish and schedule posts across core social platforms in line with the campaign calendar.
• Respond to comments, direct messages, and tags promptly and authentically.
• Monitor incoming messages for customer‑service needs and route them appropriately.
• Capture and edit short‑form video and photography at races for use on social, email, and other channels.
• Write copy for posts, captions, and social‑first content while maintaining a consistent visual and tonal identity.
• Attend 16 race weekends per year, producing live social content from sunrise to finish.
• Track performance metrics, provide insights, and recommend improvements during regular check‑ins.
• Flag partnership, sponsorship, and collaboration inquiries to the Director of Marketing.

Required profile

• Local to Phoenix or willing to relocate before the start date.
• Individual contributor with no direct reports.
• Comfortable traveling to multiple race venues and working early mornings.
