About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an unpaid Social Media Intern to support its Development Team in New York and New Jersey. You will help amplify the IRC’s mission, raise awareness of its programs, and engage donors through compelling social media content.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Development Team to promote IRC’s work and fundraising initiatives on social platforms.
- Create and schedule engaging posts for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other channels.
- Brainstorm new social media ideas and campaigns to reach wider audiences.
- Monitor social media activity, respond to comments, and track performance metrics.
- Assist in curating and repurposing content for various platforms.
Required profile
- Passionate about humanitarian work and nonprofit communications.
- Strong written communication skills and creativity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiastic, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn.
