SMD Technician – PCB Assembly Equipment Specialist

About the role

The SMD Technician will manage and maintain critical equipment used in PCB assembly processes. You will operate, set up, and optimize a range of machines, ensuring stable production quality and efficient workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and optimize SMD machines (pick‑and‑place, stencil printer, reflow oven), wave soldering systems, and PCB milling machines.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service to minimise downtime.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and integrate new equipment into production lines.
• Analyze production data to refine process parameters and reduce defects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, service history, and spare‑part usage.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to address process‑related quality issues and ensure compliance with IPC and internal standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in an EMS environment handling similar equipment.
• Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a team‑oriented mindset.
